Giving up a small, private business is an important consideration given the complexities involved when relinquishing ownership.

There are many reasons why people give up their business. The owner could be retiring. Or, the sale is the result of death, disability, divorce, the departure of one of the partners or poor market conditions. Some owners may have no option but to consider filing for bankruptcy.
