The Government of Canada no longer makes contributions under the Trade Routes program. The program will continue to offer market entry support, in-market assistance and market research services to its clients until March 31, 2010.
The Department of Canadian Heritage's Trade Routes program is a comprehensive trade development program specifically designed for Canada's arts and cultural sector. The program provides assistance in export preparedness and international business development to small and medium enterprises.

Trade Routes helps profit and not-for-profit organizations in the arts and cultural sector, in the areas of:
Market Research:
Trade Routes makes market research available to help arts and cultural exporters develop their export plans. Trade Routes also works to improve the availability and quality of trade data on Canada’s cultural industries.
Services in Canada:
Trade Routes trade commissioners help arts and cultural exporters finalize their export plans and prepare to export. These trade commissioners provide services to all regions of Canada from six locations across the country.
Services Abroad:
Trade Routes trade commissioners work in five locations around the world to help arts and cultural entrepreneurs interested in exporting to specific markets.
Before you speak to a trade commissioner abroad, you first need to identify your target market and be ready to start exporting.
If your target market is not served by a Trade Routes trade commissioner, you may wish to consult with Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT).
DFAIT has trade commissioners and cultural attachés in various locations that may be able to offer assistance.
Note: "non-profit" also known as nonprofit organizations, non profit organizations, not-for-profit organizations, voluntary organizations and volunteer organizations.
