About the GAP
The Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre's Guest Advisor Program provides Manitoba entrepreneurs with the opportunity to speak with lawyers, accountants, E-Business Specialists, Human Resource Specialists and banking professionals who volunteer their time and share their expertise.
This free service offers:
- confidential, one-on-one consultation over the phone or in person
- an opportunity to discuss your business situation with a professional in a neutral location

The C/MBSC is looking for a diverse range of professionals to volunteer their time in our

Legal Guest Advisor
Contracts, liability, leases, dispute resolution, business structure, shareholder/partnership agreements, intellectual property, buying/selling a business, licensing agreements, disclaimers, taxation, debt collection.
Accounting Guest Advisor
Tax issues, GST, eligible expenses, business plans, payroll, leasing, business structure, bookkeeping, accounting software, employer/employee responsibilities, administrative processes, records management.
Banking Guest Advisor
Financing options, banker's expectations, loan application process, liability issues, expansion financing, cash flow, financing a buy-out, business plans, alternate financing options and services available.
Human Resources Specialist Guest Advisor
Interviewing, selection, hiring and retention, salaries, benefits, and effective employee relation management. Consulting and Contracting. Education and Training, employee vs. contractor. Intervention and employee dismissal, exit interviews.
E-Business Specialist Guest Advisor
E-commerce i.e. : Internet shopping, electronic payments, supply chain management, online marketing
Internal Business Systems i.e. : customer relationship management, document management systems, Human resources management, and managing inventory
Communication and collaboration i.e. : content management systems, e-mail, voicemail, web conferencing.
