The objective of this program is to encourage economic production, storage and marketing of commercially grown vegetables and to promote the health benefits of vegetables to all residents of Manitoba.

Eligibility Criteria

This program is available to vegetable producers and others involved in agri-business.

Summary

DESCRIPTION

Part of the program is the Integrated Pest Management project to assist producers with pest control strategy. Another major component is the investigation/demonstration of producing and marketing "new" vegetable crop commodities in Manitoba.

NON-FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

This program provides agronomic, technical and marketing assistance to producers including non-commercial growers. This may take the form of demonstrations, direct contact with clients, or assisting through telephone and written inquiries. Another component of the program involves monitoring pest levels, determining threshold information, and advising on pest control measures.
