The Border Information Service (BIS) is the computerized telephone service of the Canada Border Services Agency. It provides useful general information on business importation and exportation.

Summary

The BIS provides information on programs, services and initiatives for business importation and exportation. Exchange rates are also available using BIS.

Should additional information on a particular topic be needed, clients can press "0" to speak to an agent during regular office hours (08:00 - 16:00 local time) from Monday to Friday (except holidays).

The BIS works with touch-tone telephones. Clients using rotary-dial telephones will not be able to hear the recorded information. However their call will be transferred directly to an agent during office hours.
