Heritage Grants Program

This program has been developed in consideration of the needs of Manitoban's to identify, protect, and interpret the province's human and natural heritage.

Eligibility Criteria

Not-for-profit, incorporated community organizations seeking to identify, protect or interpret Manitoba's human and natural heritage. The organizations must have been in existence for at least one year. Individuals or unincorporated groups may apply under the endorsement of an eligible organization.

DESCRIPTION

Funds are available in the following categories:

  • Collections management
  • Conservation
  • Cairns and plaques
  • Exhibitions
  • Programming
  • Research
     

Grants will not exceed 50 per cent of eligible costs i.e. materials, supplies, services, equipment, project staff salaries or contractual fees, and may not exceed the total cost of purchased labour, materials and equipment. Ongoing administration, capital or operating costs are not eligible. Financial contribution by the applicant, and by private sector funders, will enhance the application.
