Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade

Last Verified: July 18, 2011

Summary

Industry Workforce Development supports a wide range of dedicated human resource development/training organizations that partner with industry, business, labour, and educational institutions to develop and deliver training. The Sector Council Program encourages long range human resource planning within economic industry sectors. This collaboration of key stakeholder groups encourages joint planning, information sharing and decision making across the province.

A formal agreement between an incorporated industry group and IWD outlines the terms of the cost-sharing agreement. Industry must be one of the financial partners and contributions typically include both cash and in-kind support. The cash support can be in the form of fees for courses or other direct contributions.
