Industry Workforce Development (IWD) - Workplace Essential Skills

Offered by Training and Continuing Education, this program supports essential skills training for the workplace in Manitoba. Essential skills are the reading, writing, numeracy, communication, teamwork, thinking learning and computer skills required to successfully perform in the workplace and to maximize the use of other types of training. 

Eligibility Criteria

Training is offered in partnership with Manitoba business, labor and industry through the Workplace Education Manitoba.

Summary

Industry Workforce Development help organizations to identify essential skills requirements, and develop and implement appropriate essential skills training through the support of direct delivery programs on-site in the workplace or through the Worklace Essential Skills Training (WEST) Centres.  A project team is assembled with a consultant and representatives from management and employees.  A needs assessment is conducted curriculum is developed and delivered according to industry requirements.
