Industry Workforce Development (IWD) - Workplace Recognition of Prior Learning

Offered by Industry Workforce Development, this program promotes the use of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to industry.  RPL is a process used to identify, document, assess and recognize skills and knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria

Workplace RPL consultation, expertise and cost-shared assistance is offered in partnership with business, labour and government through the Workplace Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (WPLAR) Committee.

Summary

Industry Workplace Development coordinates the development and implementation of industry-based RPL models and strategies.  IWD will consult with employers to assist in determining the feasibility of applying RPL to specific workplaces, defining and documenting job-related competencies, developing relevant assessment tools, creating and testing innovative models and documenting lessons learned.
