Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Program

The Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Program is designed to encourage continued growth of the film industry, which will result in job creation and indirect economic benefits within the Province. Assistance is provided for the financing of film projects including feature films, television programs and series.

Eligibility Criteria

All projects which meet the requirements of the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit Program to qualify to apply for this loan guarantee.

Summary

Project financing is arranged through a financial institution.  When a loan has been conditionally approved by the financial institution, a loan guarantee application may be submitted for consideration.  The province will provide a guarantee to a maximum of 20 percent of the loan amount.

This program is coordinated by the Small Business Development Branch of Manitoba Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade.

How to Apply

  • Approach a financial institution with a project plan and apply for financing.
  • Receive a letter of offer from the financial institution stating the amount of loan guarantee to be applied for.
  • Complete the Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Application Form.
