Single Buyer Insurance

Single Buyer Insurance covers unlimited export sales to the same customer for a six-month coverage period on shipments or services worth up to $US250 000.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to qualify you must be a Canadian company and your goods must be shipped from Canada. If you are providing a service, you must be based in Canada.
 

Summary

The policy insures up to 90% of your losses if a customer does not pay after delivery of the goods. Some reasons for non-payment may include:

• bankruptcy or insolvency;
• currency conversion and transfer; and
• war, revolution, or insurrection.

Cost

A one-time premium, payable up-front, is calculated based on the amount of coverage you need and on buyer risk. A minimum premium fee of $75 will apply.

Claims

If you do have a collection problem, EDC has a simple and effective claims and recoveries process.
