The Marine Environmental Data Service (MEDS) of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (F&O) disseminate data, data products, and services to the marine community.

Summary

MEDS provides a wide range of marine environmental data through five classes of service:

 

  • support to operations and regulatory services;
  • support to marine science research;
  • support to the marine engineering community;
  • support to agencies issuing forecasts and warnings; and
  • operation of the Canadian portion of the international ocean data exchange system.
