Summary

The Fisheries Act governs fisheries resources and their habitats, and sets out the rules for day-to-day conservation and management or related penalties.

Related regulations set out the rules for managing, controlling and assigning of fishery resources using tools such as close times, quotas, and equipment restrictions. This includes rules for both inland waters and coastal waters, if applicable.

The regulations listed above are somewhat similar but they do carry certain variations and users should contact the Department of Fisheries and Oceans office below for more specific information.
