This database provides information on known commercial trade barriers that Canadian businesses may encounter when exporting to foreign countries. Examples of such barriers include high import duties and complying with standards.

Summary

The International Trade Barriers Database is a tool for Canadian exporters and investors who are assessing their export and investment options. Specifically, it:

  • identifies commercial barriers in foreign markets to help Canadian businesses assess their export and investment options;
  • is searchable by sector, product code, country or keyword; and
  • provides easy-to-read, relevant information.

The Trade Barriers Search complements Canada's International Market Access Report (CIMAR).
