Information Services - Corporations Canada

Corporations Canada can provide information on federally incorporated entities, including businesses, non-profit organizations*, chambers of commerce and cooperative associations. It does not provide information on financial institutions.

Information relating to the incorporation process, such as forms, information, policies, fee schedules, compliance requirements and departmental services, can be obtained by calling Corporations Canada's enquiries line at 1-866-333-5556.

Other information services offered by Corporations Canada

Certificates of compliance/certificates of existence are available for corporations that are up to date with their statutory filing requirements. Contact the Certification Unit at 1-866-333-5556 or directly at 613-941-6631 for further details. The fee is $10 per certificate.

Copies and certified copies of documents required to be filed in accordance with the provisions of the statutes, with some exceptions, are available to the public. Fax your request to 613-941-5789.

• CBCA Certificate of compliance $10.00
• CBCA Certificate of existence $10.00
• CBCA uncertified copies of documents (photocopies) - $1 per page
• CBCA Certified copies of documents - $35 per document
• CCA-II Certificate of compliance $10.00
• CCA-II Letter of Existence - no charge
• CCA-II uncertified copies of documents (combination of annual summaries and by-laws)(1-9 documents) - no charge
• CCA-II uncertified copies of documents (combination of annual summaries and by-laws)(10 documents plus) - $1 per document
• CCA-II uncertified copies of official Documents (Ex: Letters Patent, Supplementary Letters Patent and Surrender of Charter) $10.00 per document.
• CCA-II Certified copies of documents (Letters Patent, Supplementary Letters Patent, Annual Summaries and By-laws) $10 per document.

Histories of corporations may be obtained by writing to Corporations Canada or by sending a request by fax to 613-941-0601.

Regular telephone service for name enquiries or pre-approval of your proposed corporate name is not available. In all cases, fax your Canada-bias NUANS® search report, less than 90 days old, to 1-877-568-9922 (toll-free) or 613-941-5782 (National Capital Region) along with the Corporate Name Information Form duly completed, or a letter containing the kind of information that will enable them to make a decision.
 

*Note: "non-profit" also known as nonprofit organizations, non profit organizations, not-for-profit organizations, voluntary organizations and volunteer organizations.
