This program helps Manitoba residents establish livestock cattle associations. Funds borrowed by the association from participating lending institutions to purchase feeder cattle and breeder cattle are secured by a government guarantee.
Eligibility Criteria
All persons are eligible who:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age, a resident of Manitoba, own or lease a farm in Manitoba and have facilities to care for livestock. The associations must have a minimum of 15 members.
- Members of a feeder association must deposit 5% of their authorized loan limit into the association's assurance fund.
- Members of a breeder association must deposit 10% of their authorized loan limit into the association's assurance fund.
Summary
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
MASC will guarantee the lender repayment of 25% of the loan outstanding to the maximum guaranteed loan limit of $5 million per association.
