MASC - Loan Guarantee Programs - Operating Credit Guarantees for Agriculture

Operating Credit Guarantees provide a 25% guarantee on operating lines of credit with participating private lending institutions. This can be used for general farm expenditures, living expenses, current year's principal and interest payments on existing loans, as well as limited capital purchases in cases of emergency.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older;
• Applicants must be residents of Manitoba and a Canadian citizen or lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residency;
• Applicants must personally operate the farm to which the loan applies.

Summary

The maximum operating loan to be guaranteed by MASC Operating Credit Guarantee is $700,000 for individuals and single shareholder corporations, and $100,000,000 for partnerships, corporations, and cooperatives. Interest rates are capped at prime plus 1.5%.
