Manitoba Arts Council - Touring Programs

The Manitoba Arts Council is an arm's-length agency of the provincial government dedicated to artistic excellence. The Council offers a broad-based granting program for professional artists and arts organizations. The Council will promote, preserve, support and advocate for the arts as essential to the quality of life of all the people of Manitoba.

The Council provides assistance in a variety of programs that support its mandate to promote the study and appreciation of the arts in Manitoba. These programs are designed to support life-long learning in the arts, to support the development of the arts or artists in Manitoba, or to increase public understanding of the arts and its value.

The Council provides assistance to adult and young people's touring productions and presentations.

Summary

Touring Grants for Individuals/Small Ensembles
Deadline:  October 1 (for tours between April 1 and March 31)

Touring grants provide partial support toward the presentation of touring performances in Manitoba schools and community venues outside Winnipeg by professional performing artists, amateurs of professional calibre or small ensembles and creative collectives who are not currently receiving annual/operating support from the Council. Artists must also apply for inclusion in the Directory of Touring Performances at the same deadline.

Touring Grants for Organizations
Deadline:  March 15

This program assists organizations who have demonstrated a strong commitment to touring for young audiences and who are currently receiving operating or annual support from the Council. The organizations must submit their request for touring with their request for operating or annual funding. Theatre organizations must apply for inclusion in the touring directory by October 1, prior to their application for a touring grant.
