NRC Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (NRC-CISTI)

The NRC Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (NRC-CISTI) is one of the largest libraries of its kind in North America. The NRC Research Press, NRC-CISTI's publishing arm, also contributes significantly to NRC's international reputation as a leader in science and technology. As one of the largest disseminators of scientific, technical and medical (STM) information in the world, NRC-CISTI is an essential service to researchers and publishers and a vital link in the innovation system.

Eligibility Criteria

Anyone with a need for scientific, technical and medical information and scientific publishing expertise.

Summary

The CISTI collection includes: 

• 50,000 different serial titles;
• over 600,000 books, conference proceedings and technical reports;
• two million technical reports on microfiche from around the world;
• journals from the world's leading scientific publishers, such as Elsevier, Springer-Verlag and others;
• journals indexed in major scientific and medical databases.

Across the country, NRC-CISTI also maintains NRC Information Centres that provide scientific information to Canadian clients.
