Statistics Canada can conduct special surveys to meet clients' information needs. Access to a wide variety of business and trade statistics maintained by Statistics Canada can also be obtained through special projects carried out by the Small Business and Special Surveys Division.
Statistics Canada can respond to the special data needs of clients in the public and private sectors. The agency can produce special tabulations and compile new databases from existing survey and administrative sources. Statistics Canada's ability to link microdata from many sources means it can produce profiles according to user-defined economic sectors or other aggregation. The use of longitudinal files also permits tracking businesses over time.
