Francophone Economic Development Organizations (FEDOs) enhance the vitality of minority language communities in Western Canada and assist in their economic development.

Eligibility Criteria

Francophone entrepreneurs in Western Canada. 

Eligible Area

The provinces of Western Canada.

Eligible Activities

Support from Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) enables the four provincial organizations to provide enhanced services to francophones, including:

  • training;
  • business and community economic development;
  • access to capital;
  • information services;
  • marketing advice; and
  • networking and mentoring.

Summary

The provincial FEDO organizations are:

  • Société de développement économique de la Colombie-Britannique (SDE);
  • Conseil de développement économique de l'Alberta;
  • Conseil de la coopération de la Saskatchewan (CCS); and
  • Conseil de développement économique des provinces bilingues du Manitoba (CDEM).

Business Loans

In addition to many business services, the CCS and CDEM also offer small business loans.
