Selecting the right name for your business is one of the most important aspects of the start-up stage. In order to serve you better, the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre has teamed up with the Manitoba Companies Office to help make the start-up process easier for you.
If you intend to set your business up as a sole proprietorship or partnership and are planning to register your business, just give us a call or send us an e-mail with the name you want to use for your business and we can do a preliminary search to let you know if someone has already registered the business name. There is no charge for this service!
If someone has already registered the name, we’ll let you know and you can start thinking of another. If it appears that no one has registered the name, then you can proceed with the registration process*.
It’s that easy! Call or e-mail us today and get your business going!
*Note: this search only covers business names registered with the Manitoba Companies Office. It is NOT a substitute for the NUANS or any other search required to incorporate either provincially or federally. It does not guarantee that a proposed name will be accepted by the Companies Office. For more information on the criteria used for accepting a business name, see "Choosing Your Business Name” from the Manitoba Companies Office. The name search results are accurate at the time of the search. If you choose to register the name at a later date, the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre cannot guarantee that it will still be available. A maximum of 5 proposed business names will be searched on your behalf at no cost.
